xaq_the_aereon: I caught it...now what? (Default)

Crap.

Good news: Whatever I've been suffering from the past few days (theories on it have ranged from sinus infection to bird flu...sheesh. I would've gone to Medical if they had any sort of "get you checked out right away" or even "get you checked out sometime TODAY" service, rather than being entirely "we can get you checked out in about 3 weeks"...) is finally beginning to clear up.

Bad news: I'm still not at 100%, and the weather has cleared up today. Why is that a bad thing? Because today's the PRT, and I was hoping that the shitcan weather we had last night was going to hold over to today so it would be postponed so I could recover my strength. So much for that plan.

Hopefully I'll be allowed to take a make-up PRT if I, as will most likely happen, crash and burn today, because if I do and they don't let me try again, I'm finished. I've failed 2 in the past 4 years..I blow this one, new regulations require them to seperate me from military service.

I know that sounds weird from someone who doesn't particularly LIKE military life, but here's my reasoning on it: I gave them my word when I enlisted that I would be in for 6 years, and believe it or not, I value my promises. I know I break them sometimes, and believe me, I feel terrible for it when it happens.

Anyway...well, here's hoping I can muster up the strength to make it today. I took another shot of Vicks 44 a little while ago, so hopefully any lingering symptoms will start to clear up in a while and I can put more effort into running a mile and a half rather than running a fever.

...I'm really hoping work gets tanked today due to it being PRT day. Why? Simple. I brought my utilities home last night to wash them, then went to take a short nap. That short nap ended about 4 AM this morning. Even if I could get those things out of the dryer at some reasonal point today, I imagine they're gonna be wrinkled as hell. Sure, I've got my coveralls at work, but guess what my genius ass threw in the wash WITH my utilities? Yep...my belt. Not sure if taking it in while it's sopping wet is such a good idea, but I might not have a choice. Man, I MUST have been burnt out yesterday. x.x

Oh yeah...there's also the Sneak Preview of the next Yu-Gi-Oh expansion, Enemy Of Justice, tomorrow up at the University of Maryland. Hope I'm feeling up to that, too.

...Right. That's it.

You know you could try and get waived from today's PRT if it's not already happened and then just take the make up later. Course that requires them to check you out, of course they're also supposed to have a doc there just in case these sorts of thing arise...

Wow.

Still felt fairly sick. Was COMPLETELY wiped out by the Vicks 44 I took this morning, as well as whatever's left of whatever I had. Had absolutely NO energy in me WHAT. SO. EVER. Was on the verge of both vomiting and collapsing during the last half a mile.

And I passed. Didn't do well enough to get off the Mando PT program, but for fuck's sake, even with everything against me, I passed.

I'll take it. :D

Wow. o.o Just... Wow.

Congratulations! And stuff. And pie. You definitely deserve pie or cake or pastries of some sort.

Oh trust me, the celebrations shall be had shortly. In 15 minutes the chow hall opens, and if I have their schedule correctly memorized, dinner shall either be Turkey & Dressing, or Spaghetti...aka the co-holders of "Best Meal on Andrews Air Force Base".

HAPPY END. :]

And even if I'm wrong, there's always a slice of cake to be had. :D

Congratulations. My command PRT is next week (Monday for me). I should do okay. My push-ups and sit-ups will be a challenge, but the run shouldn't be a problem. I just seem to keep getting better at that.

Here's hoping I can do enough push-ups and sit-ups to stay off of Mando.

Good luck, Corey. :D

Unless they are paying very close attention you can always just turn in a number that is slightly more than your bare minimum to stay off mando. Granted I always try and do more than that, but still it seems kind of silly to me.

True. Isn't that what ricky-counting's for? :b

"Okay Johnson, how many sit-ups did Crawford do?"
"68." 68, 46, same difference...
"Good job, Crawford!"
