I won't beat around the bush with this:
Today I was informed that my performance evaluations for last year failed to meet the criteria needed to continue working for TSA. As such, tonight I'll be handing in a leave chit for the next two weeks, all of my uniform items, and my two-week notice of resignation...which I do thank them for allowing me the dignity of doing.
Truth be told, I've expected this, and have considered resigning before quite a few times, so I'm not all that upset over this or anything.
My whole life's been a series of transiting from one position in life to the next, whether it was my dad's various duty transfers when he was in the Navy, mine when I was, or a return to civilian life when either of us ended those enlistments; this, I see simply as another turn in the road my life's going down.
In summary:

Oh well. Horse apples happen.
(It's probably helping my feelings on all this that I've got a few other job possibilities open, as well as my still-available GI Bill in case I decide to be a career student for a while...for now, though, I think I'm just gonna take some much-overdue me time.)
