xaq_the_aereon: I caught it...now what? (Ryouta)

Elaborating on something I mentioned earlier today.

Basically, what I was considering was taking a location from Hatoful Boyfriend and turning it into a Room Escape game using the Hatogate interface: you start out locked in the location, and have to find various items and solve various puzzles in order to ultimately make your escape.

This would make for a somewhat more expansive game (there would be additional screens in the sense of examining different parts of the room...north wall, west wall, closer inspection of a safe against the west wall, stuff like that) and probably be more enjoyable...plus there wouldn't be quite as many opportunities to get yourself killed; probably not more than a single one for a bad ending.

I'm also thinking I'd skip on the achievements this time, if only because the space on the screen for that button might be needed to thumb through an inventory.

Anyway, just wanted to run that by you guys to see what you thought.

Good lord.

I caught my personal playthrough of HolidayStar up with where the video sessions are, and copied down the garbled text that appears at the start.

I did my best to fill in the blanks.

Y...pr...d...we...uld...to...er.
(You promised we would be together.)
...tho...u....I...ught...y...ne...un...od...me.
(Although I thought you never understood me,)
...be...ved...ou.
(I believed you.)
W...
W...y?
(Why? Why?)
W...y...id...you...is...me?
(Why did you do this to me?)

I also caught a screencap of the title screen as it flashed through the static. It turns out we were all correct: it is written in Kanji, but there's an English translation of it directly underneath.

EDIT: [livejournal.com profile] davidnclarified my efforts to read it: it says, "Awakening - Daybreak of Holiday Star."

This...is a lot to take in. O_o;
